“Now I have someone to sing goofy-a** songs to all day and she (baby) likes it.”
We’ll be honest – Pink’s edgy aesthetic isn’t easily reproduced. She favours risqué styles that highlight her signature toned body, but has been known to experiment mixing her feminine and wild sides in recent years. While pregnant, she rocked our Bliss Nursing Bra, and Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra.
One of the most successful singers of all time, Pink is a no-holds-barred force to be reckoned with. Having sold over 40 million albums and 70 million singles worldwide, the candid songstress was dubbed the No. 1 pop musician of the decade by Billboard magazine in 2009, is a CoverGirl cosmetics spokesperson, and is also a wife (to freestyle motocross/motorcycle racer Carey Hart) and mom. That she’s adored by her fans while flying under the radar of mainstream media is little wonder; she prefers it that way.
Born Alecia Pink Moore, she’s the daughter of a nurse and Vietnam vet. Though her dream was to be an Olympic gymnast, she was booted from gymnastics at 12 for her less-than-savory attitude, saying, “I was really competitive. I wouldn’t clap if I didn’t win first place.” At 13, after deciding to pursue music, she began experimenting heavily with drugs and was kicked out of her mother’s home. By 16 Pink was performing in clubs and had secured a record deal as part of an R&B group which eventually fizzled, but was encouraged by her producer to go solo. She did by releasing her album ‘M!ssundaztood’, after which her career took off.
In her personal life, Pink married her husband in 2006 (they split in 2008 and reunited in 2009), delivered daughter Willow Sage in 2011, and has been very open about life becoming infinitely better since. “She’s the coolest thing that has ever happened to me. Now I have someone to sing goofy-a** songs to all day and she likes it,” she said. As for her take on the Hollywood parenting lifestyle? “I don’t live in [that] bubble. I never have and I never will. I wasn’t invited to that party,” she says, chuckling. “And if I was, I’d probably arrive late and be dressed inappropriately.”
