Fit Model – Independent Contractor

Role Objective:

At Bravado Designs, our purpose is to inspire every new Mom to breastfeed and help support her to succeed in her breastfeeding journey.

We believe that our success is dependent on the superior design in our products and a very strong collaboration and bond between our sales, design and marketing teams to deliver a great brand experience.

During the product development process, the Fit Model assists the Technical Design department to deliver both Design’s creative vision and Bravado Mom’s expectations through fit, construction and quality of our product by representing Bravado Mom’s sample size, shape, and appearance within a fragrance-free environment.  It is critically important to meet the fit standard criteria for sample size garments that body size measurements are maintained as outlined.


This role is a Non-Nursing position suited for those who are not currently breastfeeding.  The Fit Model role is not part of the Testwear program. 

 The Fit Model must be available to work on a casual basis up to approximately 10 hours/month.  The days and hours required will vary be based on the product development calendar, however, fittings will be held at Bravado during office hours Monday – Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.  Bravado’s office is located at 60 Scarsdale Road, Unit 100, Toronto, M3B 2R7.

  • Provide honest opinion on styling when asked, in a professional manner

Fit Standards

  • Maintain body shape, tone and measurements within tolerances of Bravado’s standard size 34D as follows: Under bust Measurement of 29”, Bust Measurement of 38” and Chest Measurement of 34”
    • Need to be proactive and advise if measurements change
  • Consistently provide honest fit and functionality feedback

Constructions Standards

  • Provide feedback on construction when appropriate

Sample Development & Approval

  • Maintain professional appearance, behaviour and proper personal hygiene during fittings and meetings
  • Must be comfortable wearing garments in front of the Design and Operations team members, some of whom are male employees
  • We require ‘headless pictures’ in garments for internal use only. These pictures are kept confidential

Qualifications/Logistic Requirements:

  • The Fit Model must maintain sizing of 34D specifically: Under bust Measurement of 29”, Bust Measurement of 38” and Chest Measurement of 34” and be natural with no artificial enhancements

  • Schedules will be confirmed one week in advance on an as-needed basis with a minimum 2 hours paid per fitting session
  • Must attend fittings fragrance-free, specifically no deodorant, perfume, cigarette smoke, etc.
  • Must be able to stand during the fitting for extended periods of time ranging between 30 minutes and 2 hours
  • Prior experience as a fit model or a professional model is an asset but not required
  • As a Fit Model, we require ‘headless pictures’ in garments for internal use only. These pictures are kept confidential in a secure manner and are only viewed by necessary individuals during the product development process. Successful candidates will be required to sign a document indicating their agreement
  • Applicants must have excellent verbal communication skills, a professional manner and appearance, maintain proper personal hygiene standards, be dependable and committed

The Fit Model role is an independent contractor and remunerated on an hourly basis for a minimum of two hours per session.
